nevada state fair. junk food and cold beer. cows. pigs. angora goats. a really bad hypnotist who humiliates hapless volunteers. whirling neon rides. berries prowls the food stalls, sampling what she can't get at home. we badger spencer into a daredevil stunt on what looks like a giant johnny jump-up; a glorious triple somersault makes him sick. good wholesome fun. and in the midst of all this? a springsteen tribute band called asbury park. bruce has the right mannerisms but the wrong shoes, not to mention chunky thighs. in a sad effort to authenticate the boss, "bruce" goes political and a grandstand of cowboys boo him, not broooce him, for real. nevadans just don't get rosalita.
