a little road trip with berries and the rumble doll; first the reno zoo, then north over the state line to susanville and eagle lake. i'd forgotten california attitude; even old women selling gas and fishing lures in remote marina stores are apt to look down their nose at a nevada license plate. after a year in the silver state, i'll take the humble, toothless redneck trailer trash 'tude any day over that patronizingly haughty air californians love to dispense. highlight of the day? a herd of white tailed deer nibbling the giggling baby's toes. oh, and the impulse buy of decadent fudge, purchased simply because 1)i don't eat fudge, and 2)i couldn't afford it.
