patrick has flown away to chicago to spend thanksgiving with two sons and two new grandchildren, a cozy norman rockwell affair with bossy g competing with a bossier daughter-in-law for the crown of perfect cook. i don't miss him yet, but i expect to, probably within the next few minutes.
