it's mother's day and i wish my brother hadn't rushed for 'closure' by scattering mom over the ocean in a biplane. i often wish i had a tangible place to visit with her. i'd tell her about the changes in the girls, or life with patrick, or how her singlewide was quickly replaced with an atrocious doublewide with bay windows and nice skirting. i'd tell her i miss our trips to ross and three beer mexican lunches; all the things i took for granted and sometimes even found tiresome. i'd like to somehow honor her the way everyone is honoring mother today; somebody suggested buying flowers and throwing them out to sea, but they'd wash back to shore. maybe i'll attach messages to balloons and let them go at the beach.
