one full day away from the mid-life child has restoreth my soul. berries and i bonded over one of our marathon shopping expeditions. she helped me pick out a sweater. i helped her choose a fabulous frock for the winter formal. we ate taco bell and talked about boys; her boy todd, my boy patrick. todd likes gorditas. patrick likes am pm hot dogs. todd has a cute butt. patrick's a geeky old guy, but often adorable. she intends to wear sneakers under her gown. i should wear capris to my rondevous at the lake.
it was one of those rare, fragile moments, suitable for framing. berries was either incredibly false, or she learned something from her time in the vehicle with mcj. either way, i liked being a mom again.
